Characteristic Logo Design
Reading Time: 2 minutesYour brand begins with a logo, defined by Wikipedia as “..a graphic mark or emblem commonly used by commercial enterprises, organizations and even individuals to aid and promote instant public recognition.”
The art of recognition is the ability to understand what something ‘is’ by taste, vision, or sound. For example, an apple is recognized by its shape and color or by eating it. In similar fashion a logo is defined by typography, color, and style. A winning logo should be unique and its characteristic should resemble the look and feel of the company. A subliminal message must be communicated to its consumers, so that it correctly relates to the product or service on offer. Have you ever visited a store and identified what they are selling without actually first walking in? A distinguished logo will easily convey a message if designed well and relevant to its target market.
Let’s take a look at these examples. Each name is the same, however the look and feel conveys a message.
Athletic, sports or college team Logo
Potential clothes brand logo that targets females
Mexican food chain logo
Healthy eating, or organic foods logo
Communicating a horror themed logo
As you can see each logo conveys its own message by style and emotion and focuses on its target market.
