The Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies, Johns Hopkins University
Company Overview
Established in 1984, with the explicit support of the Reischauer family, Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University actively supports the research and study of transpacific and intra-Asian relations, to advance mutual understanding between Northeast Asia and the United States.
The Challenge
The Reischauer Center required a full, responsive website redesign, to include reorganization of content, improved user experience, and an overall uplift of brand and graphic design.
Since the center was established, web technology has grown to a point where Rechauer Center required more social interactivity with faculty, staff and students. The presentation of news and publications demanded a scalable solution where events could integrate with other external sources.
The Solution
Time4design began by reimagining a website that placed emphasis on action items imperative for users to navigate easily and find information efficiently. Website design would use a good balance of photography from previous events and essentially reinforce branding delivering overall a clean, contemporary design that strategically meets higher education web standards.
A custom events calendar was developed to allow editors to add independent events including those that might be using external sources such as Eventbrite.
An intuitive web search which also includes keyword suggestions was designed in order to help visiors find information efficiently.
Responsive design makes accessing information on all screen sizes intuitive, defining an overall improved user experience.
